What mother doesn’t love her children running up to give her armfuls of roses? I can’t think of one! Every mother has a deep-set love for her children, whether she acknowledges it or not. When a small child finds a new rose, and brings it to his mother, her maternal heart is moved with love.
The mother of God is no different. When her children bring her roses, she is moved with love for them. What do these roses look like? And how do we find them?
It’s quite simple, really. This is what Our Lady’s rosebuds look like:
Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee! Blessed art thou amongst women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus! Holy Mary, mother of God, pray for us sinners now, and at the hour of our death. Amen.
What does Our Lady do when she receives a few of these rosebuds?
Well you see, with an earthly mother receives roses, she takes them with love, and puts them in a vase with water. The vase so everyone can enjoy their beauty, and the water so they will last as long as possible.
Our Lady does much the same. She takes them with great love, and places them before the throne of her Son, the King of Kings, for the entire Court of Heaven to see and enjoy. And because these rosebuds are in our Eternal Home, they need no water. They will blossom before the feet of Our Lord, and will stay forever fresh, new, and beautiful.
With what joy will Our Lady welcome a child who, during his life on earth, sent her many of these rosebuds!
She will take your hand, and lead you to the feet of her Son. “Look,” she says gently, pointing at the roses at Our Lord’s feet, “I put them there, just for you, when you sent them to me. See how they have blossomed! See their beauty! I love them so!”
You glance up to Our Lord, to see what He thinks, and His smile is more radiant than the sun.
“Their beauty is so pleasing to Me. Welcome Home! I’ve been waiting for you.”
I AM A PART of the Fellowship of the Unashamed.
The die has been cast. The decision has been made. I have stepped over the line. I won’t look back, let up, slow down, back away or be still.
My past is redeemed, my present makes sense, and my future is in God’s hands. I am finished and done with low living, sight walking, small planning, the bare minimum, smooth knees, colorless dreams, tamed visions, mundane talking, frivolous living, selfish giving, and dwarfed goals.
I no longer need preeminence, prosperity, position, promotions, applause, or popularity. I don’t have to be right, first, the best, recognized, praised, regarded, or rewarded. I now live by faith. I lean on Christ’s Presence. I love with patience, live by prayer, and labor with the power of God’s Grace.
My face is set. My gait is fast, my goal is heaven. My road is narrow, my way is rough, my companions are few, my Guide is reliable, and my mission is clear.
I cannot be bought, compromised, detoured, lured away, turned back, deluded, or delayed. I will not flinch in the face of sacrifice, hesitate in the presence of adversity, negotiate at the table of the enemy, ponder at the pool of popularity, or meander in the maze of mediocrity.
I won’t give up, shut up, let up or slow up until I have stayed up, stored up, prayed up, paid up,and spoken up for the cause of Christ.
I am a disciple of Jesus. I am a Catholic.
I must go until He comes, give until I drop, speak out until all know, and work until He stops me. And when He returns for His own, He will have no difficulty recognizing me.
My banner is clear:
I am a part of the Fellowship of the Unashamed.
