A Person Is A Person, No Matter How Small – Dr. Seuss

I went to daily Mass this morning, as I do most mornings, and was sad to remember that today is the 40th anniversary of the legalization of abortion on demand in the USA. Father preached on the evil of abortion, as I suspected he would. The rest of the Mass was business as usual until the consecration, when an image filled my mind and wouldn’t leave. In my mind, I saw Father, elevating the Sacred Host, and all around him, on the altar, in the sanctuary, spilling out into the pews, were the bodies of aborted babes. Hundreds of bodies, blood… it screamed for justice! And I knew that what Father was offering Mass for, and all of us praying for, was MERCY. Prayer in reparation, and prayer for His mercy. I couldn’t get the image out of my head, and as I received Holy Communion, all I could think of was how Christ’s sacrifice on the cross was in reparation for sins just like this. How great, how wide, how deep is the mercy of our King.

The blood of the innocent cries out to God for justice!

Americans will not reject abortion until they see abortion.
